When I was little, I was always drawn to the tattoos on chewing gum – sounds stupid, but it is what it is. As I grew up, I was told to let go of that dream, and I did. Everything changed, however, when I was forced to give up fencing, the performance sport I practiced, due to an injury. That's when I realized I didn’t want to take the wrong step forward – and the field I was in didn’t offer me the freedom I craved. So, I made the switch, and I never looked back.
I’ve always been inspired by tattoo culture – the ink-culture, so to speak. Walking art – the idea that art can be worn on skin – seemed fascinating to me. Since I was little, I used to draw caricatures on my hands, and along the way, I was influenced by the people around me, the artists I interacted with, and their genuine passion for this craft.
